Army Corps’ DAPL Decision a Victory for Wildlife, Tribal Lands
Washington, DC – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today it would not grant an easement under Lake Oahe in North Dakota for the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, said today:
“Across the nation, we have seen what happens when poorly sited pipelines fail, contaminating waterways and decimating wildlife habitat. We appreciate that the Army Corps has made a clear decision to value and protect the people, water, wildlife and tribal lands along the proposed pipeline route.”
