Congress Needs to Build Upon This Foundation By Passing Build Back Better Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Biden Administration’s new commitments to hold new offshore wind lease sales, invest in energy efficiency and transmission, and take a whole-of-government approach to fast-tracking smart clean energy deployment will benefit people and wildlife alike. The new commitments, unveiled today, also underscore the need for Congress to pass the Build Back Better Act to address the climate crisis and support low-cost, clean power solutions.
“The Biden Administration’s plan to rapidly deploy clean power and smart grid technologies is a win-win for people and wildlife alike. Their roadmap shows how we will transform the historic investments in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into critical clean energy projects on the ground,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “The scale of these actions underscores the types of smart investments and collaborative partnerships that will transition us to a clean energy future that does not leave behind frontline or energy communities. Congress needs to build on this strong foundation and its historic investments in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act by passing the Build Back Better Act.”
