Washington, D.C. – President Joe Biden is right to encourage Congress to build upon its historic achievements of the past two years and wins for wildlife, workers, and clean energy. The National Wildlife Federation urged Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to work with their colleagues to build upon their recent successes by passing bipartisan conservation solutions like the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act and a 2023 Farm Bill with strong conservation provisions.

“President Biden has achieved more for climate, clean energy, environmental justice, and natural resource restoration than any president in the past half century. The president rightly underscored not only this progress, but also the economic and ecological opportunities ahead to create well-paying jobs and revitalize all communities, if leaders are willing to bridge the partisan divide and meet the moment with American innovation and ingenuity,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “We must also fulfill our promises to recover the full diversity of America’s imperiled fish, wildlife and plants and we look forward to working with President Biden and congressional leaders to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, a strong conservation title in the Farm Bill, and other key conservation measures that build upon the successes of the past two years.”
