New Resilience Framework Will Help Prepare the Nation for Climate Change

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House’s new National Climate Resilience Framework outlines more than a dozen essential measures that help prepare the nation to adjust to the accelerating impacts of climate change.

The impacts of a warming world are already being felt, and this year the United States has experienced a record number of billion-dollar climate and weather disasters, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“The National Climate Resilience Framework offers common-sense steps we can take to reduce climate risks and sustain our communities and ecosystems,” said Dr. Bruce Stein, National Wildlife Federation chief scientist. “Enhancing the nation’s resilience to climate change will save lives and save money. Many of these recommendations, such as protecting the sources of our drinking water and safeguarding our forests from massive wildfires, will also help ensure that America’s wildlife can thrive into the future.”
