Congress Should Focus Efforts on Passing ‘Improved, Truly Bipartisan Farm Bill’

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following the passage of the partisan House Agriculture Committee Farm, Food and National Security Act, lawmakers should come together with what time is left in the year to pass a bipartisan Farm Bill.

“Thank you to Chairman Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.) and the House Agriculture Committee for supporting a historic and permanent increase in conservation funding, but the Farm, Food and National Security Act still falls short of what’s truly needed to advance a Farm Bill that’s good for wildlife, climate, and communities,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “We will continue to work with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to pass an improved and truly bipartisan Farm Bill this year that protects that historic increase in conservation funding while ensuring important climate sideboards.”
