White House Should Now Recommit, Refocus on Environmental Justice, Wildlife Crises
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Inflation Reduction Act, now signed into law, is the most significant investment in the fight against climate change in decades and one the White House should build upon by focusing on environmental justice and the ongoing wildlife crisis.
“The historic Inflation Reduction Act underscores that we do not need to choose between confronting the climate crisis and lowering costs for families. The Inflation Reduction Act sets America on a new path to a clean energy future by reducing pollution, creating good jobs, and achieving energy independence,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “The Inflation Reduction Act is the most significant climate legislation in decades — and a strong foundation for future efforts on environmental justice and wildlife conservation. President Biden and his administration should take this moment not only to celebrate, but also to recommit and refocus on addressing the environmental injustice and wildlife crises.”
