Delaware Nature Society  

Delaware Nature Society

Founded in 1964, Delaware Nature Society (DNS) works to improve the environment through conservation, advocacy, and education. DNS is renowned for its educational programming and advocacy that provides the tools for communities to take action and protect the environment through land preservation and watershed stewardship.

DNS manages more than 2,000 acres of land, including four nature preserves, and operates three educational nature centers: Ashland Nature Center, Abbott’s Mill Nature Center, and DuPont Environmental Education Center at the Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge. Programs are also held at their Coverdale Farm Preserve.

Kentucky Waterways Alliance

Kentucky Waterways Alliance

Since 1993, Kentucky Waterways Alliance (KWA) has been a leader in the fight against pollution in Kentucky’s waterways — winning stronger protections for more than 90 percent of Kentucky’s rivers, lakes and streams, and protecting thousands of acres of wetlands across the Bluegrass State.

KWA works with communities on local watershed issues at the state and national levels, advocating for the best regulations possible. With a mission to protect and restore Kentucky’s waterways, their work is making a difference in the quality of life for all Kentuckians — one protected stream at a time.

North Carolina Wildlife Federation

North Carolina Wildlife FederationSince 1945, North Carolina Wildlife Federation has been one of the most effective conservation organizations bringing together citizens, outdoor enthusiasts, hunters and anglers, government and industry to protect North Carolina’s wildlife and its habitat — from the mountains, to the piedmont, to the coast.

North Carolina Wildlife Federation advocates for the conservation and enhancement of all wildlife and its habitat; ethical and biologically sound hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities; and education, for children and adults, that increases public awareness of wildlife, its dependence on habitat, and the importance of both to human existence.

PennFuture

PennFutureCitizens for Pennsylvania’s Future (PennFuture) creates a just future where nature, communities and the economy thrive across Pennsylvania. Created in 1998 to conduct professional advocacy for strong environmental and public health policies, PennFuture has grown to become Pennsylvania’s foremost advocate for clean water, clean air, and a clean energy future. Across the state, PennFuture has provided tens of millions of dollars of pro bono legal services to citizens, establishing a track record of successes that have set critical precedents, improved local conditions, reduced pollution, and ensured that local, state, and environmental laws are enforced.

The National Aquarium

National AquariumSince its opening in 1981, the National Aquarium has been a gem in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor. Through their mission to inspire the conservation of the world’s aquatic treasures, the National Aquarium has motivated thousands of Marylanders to appreciate and protect the delicate habitats in their own backyards.

From restoring the wetlands of the Chesapeake Bay to educating more than 100,000 Maryland school children a year, both at the Aquarium and in the classroom, the National Aquarium is ensuring that aquatic habitats remain healthy and strong for generations to come.

Virginia Conservation Network

Virginia Conservation NetworkA clean, healthy Virginia depends on thriving farms, clean water supplies, and safe, affordable energy. Virginia Conservation Network (VCN) is a network of more than 120 organizations committed to protecting Virginia's natural resources and protecting its future prosperity. VCN provides year-round opportunities for citizens, public officials, and conservation professionals to learn more about key conservation and public policy issues affecting the Commonwealth — from the Blue Ridge Mountains, all the way to its sound shores. They combine the voices of conservation to drive a common agenda, and in doing so employ a powerful, diverse, and highly-coordinated movement to ensure healthy rivers, green communities, and for clean energy.

West Virginia Rivers Coalition

West Virginia Rivers CoalitionThe West Virginia Rivers Coalition (WVRC) is the statewide voice for water-based recreation and clean, drinkable, swimmable, and fishable rivers and streams — from the headwaters to wherever water flows in West Virginia. Founded by paddlers and whitewater enthusiasts who care deeply about restoring and caring for the Mountain State's renowned free-flowing waters and scenic beauty, their mission is to conserve and restore West Virginia's exceptional rivers and streams. They believe clean water is the foundation of life and that all people should respect and be able to enjoy clean West Virginia rivers and streams.

More than one-third of U.S. fish and wildlife species are at risk of extinction in the coming decades. The National Wildlife Federation is on the ground in seven regions across the country, collaborating with 53 state and territory affiliates to reverse the crisis and ensure wildlife thrive.
